I spent a few months building these custom microphones for Nature Field recording from scratch tweaking, soldering, and testing them out in the field until they sounded right.

Plugin power through the 3.5mm jack they work with all handy recorders like the Zoom and Tascam series . I ended up with clean specs about 15dB self noise, -33dB sensitivity, full 20Hz-20kHz range, tight cardioid pickup, 120dB max SPL, over 78dB signal to noise. This is premium sound quality equivalant to microphones from name brands in a small form factor .
