An eight hour kayak journey down the Biebrza River, paddling from The upper to the Lower Basin. The Biebrza River flows through one of Europe’s last untouched river valleys, carving out vast wetlands, secluded oxbow lakes, and ancient peat bogs that have remained largely undrained for centuries. Historically shielded by its impassable swamps, this wild ecosystem serves as a crucial refuge for over 250 bird species, European beavers, and elks and wolfs making it a haven for capturing raw natural acoustics. This video documents the long trek through quiet wetlands and secluded oxbow lakes Along the way, I recorded nesting bird colonies and passed through an active beaver city, capturing unique soundscapes from one of Europe's last pristine river systems. Note: This is a behind the scenes look at the expedition process captured via travel mics. The finalized, High quality soundscapes from this journey will be released separately.
